Our Mission
Saint Thomas Early Learning Center is a parish day school serving pre-school through first grade students. The school is an outreach of Saint Thomas Church and a ministry to our community. As a Christian school, we worship and learn of God in Scripture and nature, as well as through our common humanity. We seek to make each year so rich and full that growth and progress are truly appropriate to the age and the individual.
Our Philosophy
Saint Thomas Early Learning Center opened its doors in 1964. Saint Thomas Early Learning Center provides education for children and parents during those crucial years preceding second grade. We see our educational program as a valid ministry to our community. Our hope is to provide a developmental school, a model school, and to help stimulate local concern for early childhood education.
Saint Thomas Early Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools. We are members of the National Association of Episcopal Schools.
Our Teaching Staff
The staff of Saint Thomas Early Learning
Center is made up of special
people finely tuned to the needs and feelings of the children with whom
they work. They are involved in a wide range of professional activities
including publications, workshops and conferences. Teachers are members
of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which
operates at local, state and national levels.
Our Parents
Parents are a very important part of our
school. We encourage them to visit our classrooms before deciding on Saint Thomas Early Learning Center. Parents are expected to observe in the classroom at least once
a semester. Conferences are arranged at regular intervals. We hope
that parents can help enrich the children in our school by sharing
their time and their many talents with us. During the school year,
parent classes on discipline and child-related activities are offered.
